This Week In Music Presents Rodney Crowell

| 03/22/2012

This Week In Music host Ian Rogers has been doing some Nashville-based shows and this week features Rodney Crowell.

Crowell and Rogers discuss a wide variety of subjects relating to Nashville’s music industry, songwriting and Crowell’s career as a musician, artist, author and songwriter, including his new recording project with Emmylou Harris. Here’s a few quotes from the show to whet your appetite…

“I moved to Nashville because I married a California girl who had roots in Nashville. We started having children, so she said, ‘I want to get out of L.A.,’ so we moved here.”

“The upside of the industry here, even if it’s gotten really corporate is that it’s creative community is beyond anywhere I’ve ever lived…”

“It’s the romantic notion of things like Harlan Howard and Willie Nelson at 3 a.m. drinking, smoking dope and writing songs. It appeals to me.”

“It’s my intent to write songs, it’s just what I do.”
